Jamaica’s Jessica Calderbank was the best placed CARIFTA, Caribbean and CC-CAN swimmer during the morning session of the World Short Course Championships in Budapest, on Tuesday.
Competing in the 50-metres butterfly she stopped the clock at 26.97 seconds for 34th. That betters the 27.93 seconds by Zaneta Alvaranga who placed 37th in 2021.
Sidrell Williams, who made history by swimming in his third world short course championships, clocked 25.60 seconds in the men’s 50 metre butterfly.
It was off his best of 24.67 seconds, but the Howard graduate is expected to improve throughout the course of the meet.
