Former national 100m champion Jura Levy says she is doing everything in her powers to secure a place on Jamaica’s team to the Paris Olympic games this summer.

The 33-year-old Levy who became national champion in 2017, ran her first 100m of the season at the G.C Foster Classic at the weekend and opened with 11.55 seconds to win the event.

Levy says she’s impressed with the time from the standpoint that it’s faster than at this time last year which shows she is on the right track.

Levy, who has personal best times of 11.06 seconds over 100m and 22.76 seconds over 200m, says she will be concentrating on both sprints at the National Championships.

The former Vere Tech standout says she has seen rapid progress having taken a few years off during the Covid-19 pandemic.
