Though the Carnival in Jamaica Road March is a secular event, Pastor Barry Hall of the Ekklesia Bible Fellowship says any event is an opportunity to minister the Word.

Posted outside their church on Hope Road, he told The Gleaner that they have been popping up at Carnival events for the last 12 years, passing out water and pamphlets.

“We’re not here to condemn a soul, we’re here to share the love of God,” he said.

“For the most part, we are very welcomed by the revellers. We might get some condemnation from people like ourselves,” he said, referring to other Christians, “but we are here to share the Gospel and we won’t be deterred.”
